The Ugly Fireplace Transformation

If there were an ugly fireplace contest, I know we could have won. (see before picture at top)  Notice how the fireplace sits on an angle.

But thanks to the brick mason, Mike Tucker and crew, a massive, crooked, not-centered, flag-stone flanked fireplace is being transformed.  Here are some photos from today's refacing that is underway.  The end product will have a tongue-groove trim above the mantle.  By the way, Mike is the first Tucker we've met in Mitchell County which is quite different from the number in Irwin County.  Mike and Tony are distant relatives from the Tucker family in Colquitt County where Mr. Tucker had 22 children.

  1. Is that cousin Mike on the right in the white cap? Wonder if he has a certified Tucker Family Reunion T-Shirt?
